Behind the Labels:
Fighting
Greenwashing and Humanewashing

Event Description:  This session exposes how corporations use false certifications, misleading imagery, and deceptive claims to sell the illusion of eco-friendly and cruelty-free products. It presents findings from AEL Advocacy's report Behind the Labels and breaks down the Consumer Action Toolkit, offering step-by-step guidance on filing complaints to the Competition Bureau and Ad Standards. Attendees will leave with the tools and knowledge to recognize and fight back against humanewashing and greenwashing.
