Tell MPs to Prioritize Plant-Based Food Policies

On October 2, animal agriculture lobby groups hosted their annual “Downtown Diner” pop-up on Sparks Street in Ottawa — a flashy PR event serving free eggs, dairy, and poultry to Parliamentarians and the public. Behind the diner’s cheerful retro branding, however, was a campaign to normalize industries responsible for immense animal suffering, environmental degradation, and public health risks.

This initiative called on supporters to contact their MPs, urging them not to buy into industry greenwashing but instead to champion plant-based, sustainable food policies that protect animals, people, and the planet.

Thank you to everyone who took action and wrote to their MPs — your voices made a difference in showing that Canadians want a compassionate, forward-thinking food system.
